The mini keyboard is intended as a two part keyboard for right handed mouse users. Having the number pad on the right hand side of a conventional keyboards has the effect of increasing the distance to reach your mouse.

With this two part keyboard, now you can place the number pad on the left side or do away with it all together. It allows you to simply move the mouse closer to you for easier operation, thereby reducing the risk of work related upper limb disorders.
