Why an ergonomic mouse?

A mouse is one of the most commonly used devices for many of us at work, yet many of us choose to use standard mice which are not designed for using for long periods of time. Choosing a mouse is as important as choosing a pair of shoes. They need to be comfortable, promote easy working and not cause you pain. A simple switch to an ergonomic mouse could make you alot more comfortable whilst working on a computer and shield you from potential strain injuries.

Suffering from RSI or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

RSI and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome can be caused by a variety of tasks at work, such as forceful or repetitive activity, or by poor posture.  Most often, it occurs in people who work with computers or carry out repetitive manual work. Symptoms of RSI include tenderness, aches and pain, cramp, stiffness, weakness, tingling, numbness or swelling.

Ergonomically-designed mice reduce the risk of these types of injury as well as allowing the user to maintain comfort in the hand and wrist over long periods of use.

Most of our mice are also ergonomically shaped to fit the contours of the user’s hand, often known as an ergonomic grip mouse. This prevents unnecessary strain on the hand.

We supply a wide range of ergonomic mouse models and styles to suit individual needs and your preference.

Styles include:

  • Vertical Mice - Designed to eliminate forearm twisting and encourage a natural handshake position. Movement is transferred onto the more powerful shoulder muscles to reduce strain on the wrist.
  • Trackball Mice - Help keep your hands in a more natural position.
  • Roller Mice - Eliminate the need for reaching sideways for the mouse as everything is in front of you

Many of our ergonomic mice also have settings that you can change in the same way you might adjust your office chair such as changing the DPI speed (cursor speed) , short cut button such as 1 click copy & paste or even switch between left or right handed use at the touch of a button with our very own ambidextrous Penguin Mouse.

Whether you are looking for a preventative or rehabilitative aid, your wrists are just starting to ache or you have been diagnosed with RSI or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Posturite has the best range of ergonomic mice in the UK for you to choose from that can help. If you are unsure of what mouse would suit you best please contact us and we will be happy to assist you to choose the right mouse for you.
