I purchased this because I was suffering with chronic Tennis Elbow having spent too long at the key board doing Cad and word documents. It has helped hugely. The wireless version is great excpet that it tends to auto switch off too quickly meaning that retrieving the cursor on the screen can be random and a bit annoying. Otherwise it is easy to use and comfortable. My arm is now substantially better.
Completely new and restful position of the hand to prevent repetitive strain. Also ambidextrous!
very ergonomic but rather expensive
Works extremely well for user with hand mobility issues. So good they use one at home as well.
I have used this product with several of my staff and all report a dramatic improvement in any arm/hand/shoulder pain. I use one myself and I love it!
Reasonably priced and good quality item
This mouse works very well, including facility to switch hands. It is much easier on the hands and fingers and has removed the repetitive stress pain I was feeling from an ordinary mouse.
Works well most of the time, very occassionally a click doesn't register. Very comfortable and easy to set up and use.
Once I became familiar with using the mouse it was very easy and certainly has made an improvement.
Brilliant piece of equipment
Such a relief to my hands and fingers using this Penguin Mouse. Great that you can swap it between each hand. I no longer suffer from aching fingers. Easy to use, like a joy stick - everyone in my office think its very 'space-age'. The wireless model is great as there's enough wires already which surround my laptop so not having any with this mouse makes my work space a lot tidier! The mouse is easy to maneouvere,, very light. It's also quick to charge the internal battery and I like the way the letter 'P' lights up each time the mouse is moved. It's a definite talking point in the office and I wouldn't be surprised if some of my colleagues order one for themselves soon!
good product, Im sure I will need to order another one at some point
Perfect for my nerve surgery recovery
The product did not suit me. I know people who are very happy with it, so I had expected it to be helpful, but in my case it was not. I therefore returned it.
User is very happy with the Posturite mouse.
Although the new position of the mouse has helped with my wrist problems, the actual performance of the mouse is poor. Intermittent signal loss; occasional locked select buttons causing things to be selected when I don't want them to be... leads to a very frustrating experience and impacts on my workflow, which requires accurate mouse control. Would not recommend to anyone other than light 'home' users.
Gelegentlich hängt die rechte Taste.
I bought this vertical mouse from Posturite only because it was through work i.e. company purchase. I later bought another vertical mouse with additional feature (wireless) from another company for myself at less than half the price of the one from Posturite. I have been using both for nearly two months now. Both mice are comfortable and easy to use.
The end user are happy with there new mouse and it helped them with the problem.
I am a retired pensioner with a photography hobby. Following an increase in my photographic work taking pictures for a school I developed RSI very quickly and very painfully.
Great and comfortable product, its ambidexterity is just brilliant.
very easy to use and helping my carpel tunnel syndrome.
I had bought this exact mouse about 2.5 yrs ago when that one ceased to work it was out of its guarantee which wasn't brilliant, however it worked for my wrist problem so I purchased another one.
My wrist was at east immediately and my RSI has almost gone all together.
Love the mouse, once I got used to is.
Muy práctico el ratón ergonómico, mi dolor de mano por artrosis mejoró mucho.
The vertical mouse changed my life! I think anyone who works on a PC/Mac for over 5 hours a day should switch. I have no more tendon pain when working... And the fact that it can be used with your right or left hand is fantastic!
Since changing to "Percy" the penguin mouse my RSI symptoms have disappeared. I love him so much I purchased another one for home
The penguin mouse that Posturite sell is such an excellent product,
Excellent product. Suffered a lot of pain from tennis elbow and this product has totally eliminated my pains whilst at work. Have a recommended to a colleague and they also have won and have no more pain. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT
Hand and forearm ache have completely disappeared now that I've stopped using a traditional mouse and switched to the penguin :)
My osteopath recommended this products which is fabulous! It didn't take me long to master and I can't believe the difference with my hand, shoulder and neck! I wish I'd known about this long ago. Many thanks!
I used the penguin in my last company and when I started working from home, I knew I needed one. It's very easy to get used to and the only vertical mouse I had tested which worked well with the software I use (CAD/photoshop). Defiantly recommend.
Even my friend who tried it for 1st time yesterday for 5 mins said it felt intuitively better and more natural! However it took me a little while [several days] to really get used to, I love it, wish I'd switched to it earlier when I first found out about it. Top marks Posterite, shows depth of expertise to design and market and support so well.
I've already got one Penguin mouse, excellent for my typing. I got the large Penguin mouse much easier to get hold of by my hand.
I was quite sceptical, but the Penguin was recommended by my NHS physio. Certainly seems to help the RSI I have been suffering and it is great that you can use either hand.
much better for my tendonitis, along with having breaks every 20mins my symptoms went away. It's easy to use in either hand
Very good mouse. Great for left and right hand use. More comfortable then the 3M ergo. Good use of buttons. Wireless battery life is excellent
I am returning the product as unfortunately it simply does not work.
Tricky to get used to the different hand position but it has helped my symptoms of carpal tunnel. Awkward having to move whole lower arm with hand to slide mouse around - had to get used to using a whole new set of arm muscles! Top button (equivalent to left click) doesn't always click on screen when pressed and lower (right click) button seems to jam and need wiggling to move it ocassionally. Posturite replaced the first Penguin when this happened (excellent service) but still apparent so maybe it's just a design issue or particular to my hand. Despite the negative points the Penguin has helped some of my symptoms so still worth having.
Used this product for tendonitis in my thumb. I have tried other ergonomic mouses but they still caused tension in the hand and pain in the tendons. This mouse is great! I no longer have trouble using a mouse for extended periods, the pain has reduced and is no longer caused by mouse usage. The mouse didn't take too long to adjust to the different hand position. I recommend this product for similar problems!
Had one before, happy with this product!
Device is easy to use and has had a dramatic effect on comfort when working at the computer
I have been a user of this product for several years. Unfortunately my previous one broke (the left click micoswitch failed) when it was just outside the warranty period. The new wireless one is fantastic. However, I have noticed that the right click button periodically sticks. I am reluctant to send it back just yet unless it becomes a more persistent issue, as I am so attached to it.
The Bluetooth system works very well and instantly without pairing issues. The mouse is responsive and as long as I use it as intended i.e. from the shoulder and not wrist, it does what it should do and removes my wrist issues.
Easier to get used to than I was expecting
excellent product and easy to get used to
Just couldn't get used to it. It's amazing what years of mousing do to the brain. Went for a Rollermouse in the end and it is perfect!
Hi there, thank you for your comments, am sorry to hear that the Penguin wasn't for you but pleased that you have since then tried the Rollermouse and are happy with this. All keyboards & mice will suit different people and can be down to personal preference for these and which you find easiest to use. Kind regards.
I put "Good" but should be more in the middle between "ok" and "poor". The concept is good but the product made is not that good compare to other mouse in the market. The size selection is not accurate neither. I took "Small" per the guideline, but I think I would be more comfortable with "medium"
Hi there, thank you for your comments, I have passed them on to our product innovation team for consideration . Kind Regards
Overall, my life/work quality improved significantly.
lower button keeps sticking, guidance on right size only considers dimensions for length of hand from wrist to end of middle finger, do not account for width of hand. I had to swap the buttons to left hand style to stop my index finger aching from stretching up. penguin shape is not vertical enough, its too angled. considering the price paid for this product, very very disappointed
The products offered by Posturite are excellent and would totally recommend.
Hi there! so pleased that you are happy with the products on our website and with your penguin mouse! Is there anything out there you have seen that you would like to see on our webstore? please let us know! :) Kind regards
Love the mouse. Easy and comfortable to use in both hands. Highly recommend this product for anyone with RSI.
Hi there, thank you for your kind words, The penguin is our most popular mouse and is great for combating rising issues in the workplace such as RSI , so pleased to hear you love it! Kind regards
Loved the penguin mouse, made a real difference for my users who were having issues with standard mouse peripherals.
Hi there, thank you for your review, I am please to hear that you are happy with the Penguin and that it has helped. We highly recommend vertical mice as they eliminate forearm twisting which prevents RSI and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. kind regards
Bought for my husband and he loves it because it has set him free from RSI and it's as simple as using a gear stick. It keeps the hand in a much more natural position and he got used to it very quickly and wouldn't be without it.
Hi there, thank you for your lovely review! I am so pleased your partner is happy with the Penguin mouse. You're right - due to the position on a natural mouse this becomes twisted and can cause RSI. With a Penguin/vertical mouse this eliminates forearm twisting by allowing your hand, wrist and forearm to be in a more natural posture. Kind regards
My hand stopped to hurt after a week of using Penguin vertical mouse. It also takes a bit of time to get use to it and you need quite more free space on your desk to use it. Only minus I'd give is the right (or in this case bottom) button, sometimes I find it hard to press, especially if not pressed in the middle of the button.
Hi there, Thank you for your review, I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the penguin mouse. I have passed your comments on to our product team for consideration about the product design. Kind regards
It has been in use since we received it and there have not been any problems in connecting to the computer system.
Once I had the right size mouse, the experience of the mouse was good. Regrettably, I found that I couldn't control the cursor as fluidly and unobtrusively on my screen as I had hoped. I needed to spent so much energy navigating the mouse that the benefits of the vertical mouse design were equaled out. Regrettably, I had to decide to return the mouse.
The design effectively reduces the pressure on wrists caused by gripping a standard mouse. Our users have found it alleviates wrist and tendon pain they've developed from extended periods using a conventional mouse. A range of sizes enables it to fit comfortably with different hands (you need to choose the right model to fit). This wired version is convenient for desk use, and avoids issues with wireless connectivity we've found with the wireless model (possibly due to the number of wireless devices in use).
I hope to get a working Penguin mouse soon and then I will enjoy using it.
Thank you for you feedback. I am sorry to hear about the issues you have had with your order. I've spoken to the customer services manager to find out more and can see that we have added you to our list for a replacement mouse when these arrive back in stock later this week. I will send you an email shortly to advise you of the latest updates to your order. I apologise again for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards
High quality product looks stylish too
Was surprised how much difference it made. Recommend investing in this mouse for people who use keyboards for long periods of time.
Good Quality Products
Has helped relieve nerve pain in my arm
Great product, thank you!
The shape of the mouse is good but it seems to randomly lose connectivity and the only way to re-establish connection is to switch it off and back on again.
Thank you for your comments, I have sent you an email to see if we can help you further. Kind Regards
This product was bought for one of us in the office who gets wrist and hand pain when using the mouse. Since using it he hasn't experienced any pain at all and now uses the Penguin on every computer desktop and laptop he uses.
Penguin mouse good but not cured my tennis elbow
The mouse is limited to a certain type of user, for whom it is excellent, and for whom I would rate it 10/10. However, for delicate CAD work, where pixel perfect selection is required, the large muscles of the arm are not as good as the muscles in the wrist for accurate and quick selections. I think the problem is the large rim around the base as you can't rest your wrist on the desk to perform delicate selections for CAD work as the large arm muscles are just not suitable for such delicate work.
I was experiencing aches and pains accross the back of my hand. This mouse means the hand is supported (albeit on its side) and all is now well, thank you. It took a short while to get used to the new movement, but am very happy now.
Working with my computer is no longer painful for my arm, thank you Posturite!
Very good and comfortable, bought the correct size as per details. Still getting used to the movement as it's new. But very natural and not painful. I have very bad RSI and it really helps. I recommend!
Helped solve the problem of sore wrist. Sizing guide not quite accurate- so initially ordered medium which was too big and the had to return it and pay more postage for replacement which was rather annoying.
very good helps
The quality of the Penguin mouse is inconsistent but the Rite Bar is excellent.
In the weekprior to getting the Vertical Mouse I could barely work with significant pain in both hands (CTS) from using a cobentional mouse. Within days of gettingteh Penguin the pain had gone and has not retured. Superb product
Revolutionary and so comfortable to use.
I have three issues with it:
Thank you for your comments. Since we have updated the penguin to be antimicrobial, we have made improvements to the Penguin to have a stronger spindle area inside the scroll wheel. although this is now stronger than before if dropped upside down it will still be likely to break. There is also now a faint click felt with the scroll though it shouldn't feel uneven.
Takes a bit of getting used to and it's a bit slower to use than a standard mouse, but it was bought because of RSI and this has improved since purchasing - so does the job.
Great product. Easy to use.
I purchased this particular product after a friend bought one. My wife works in an office and was suffering from severe shoulder and wrist pains from ten hours a day working with a computer with a normal flat mouse. These symptoms have all but vanished now. It was a little difficult to get used to at first but didn't take long. No more shoulder pains at last!. Thank you Posturite. An innovative product, that really does what it says it will.
The user of this product, another employee, has had great results from the mouse in easing hand and wrist issues caused by using a standard mouse.
Based on my previous experience I find this mouse not precise enough while working in limited spaces and on occasion difficult to slide. My preference would be to include a ball on the top of the mouse and change it to a trackball instead - this would also help with limiting the need to bend/move the wrist while guiding the mouse, which I find uncomfortable at times.
Easy to use and has helped with RSI
Although it's taken a bit of adjustment, I think the mouse allows a much better hand position.
Fantastic product, really helps with my problem
The Vertical Penguin Mouse is perfect, got rid of my pain when clicking with mouse and holding it for a longer time, the pain was caused by long hours in my office job. It is very pleasant, and I love it. Worth buying, I warmly recommend it.
Easy to set-up and worked straight away. Takes a little getting used to but when using it gives a more natural hand position than a normal mouse.
I'm so pleased with the Penguin mouse, within a couple of hours the difference was amazing.
I like using the Penguin. It takes time to adjust to it. Yet after about 4 weeks it feels very familiar.
A very good alternative to a conventional mouse. Can be used with either hand if you like, but does make a significant difference to comfort even if you choose only to use one hand.
The Safety Manager finds product good to use as he has problems using ordinary mouse.
Often losees connection but very good product - I now have 2
Use of mouse very good, but the cursor does occasionally stick, even with mouse fully charged and in close proximity to receiver.
Everyone i have purchased a Penguin mouse is delighted with it.
size guide for the mouse was poor. measured my hand it was advised it was large. the mouse was then too big and i had to return this. other than that it has helped my RSI a lot.
Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that the return & refund process took a while. The process is to await the item to be returned before a refund is then issued which is why it may of taken a few days longer than expected. I have spoken to my manager regarding the size guide, this does need to be printed out to be at its most accurate. Am glad to hear that your new replacement Penguin has helped with your RSI.
I am pleased with the mouse
Does the job
I am pleased with the product but it does seem to get stuck quite a bit when moving around the screen.
It hasnt completely solved the problem with pain using the computer mouse, but I think its probably better than the traditional mouse
Love this product. Have had one before. Really helpful for my wrist which hurts when using a standard mouse.
I had broken my hand earlier in the year and this device makes life easier as there is less stress on my hand while working.
Easy to get used to using. Very comfortable, I bought to help with tennis elbow. Whist my hand measurement suggested I should order the medium, I actually needed the small.
Brilliant, easy to use and like that you can swap hands.
has really helped my wrists
Am using it to help with my right-handed function, which isn't quite right. I am able to use it to click and point and drag, which I found difficulty with before. Am using the scroll bar a lot, as I read several online texts, and love it for that. I'm afraid I'm not using it for much more, sticking to my non-vertical mouse - habit really. This could change though. And when/if it does I know I can!
I love the penguin vertical mouse. It has made a big difference to the way I work.
I did return this item as I found it unsuitable for me. I ordered a different one which I am very happy with.
I pleased to hear that you have found a mouse that you find suits you, We stock many different styles of mouse which all help prevent RSI and Carpel Tunnel though it can depend on personal preference and which one you find the most comfortable to use. If you have any questions or queries about the mouse please call us on 0845 345 0010 and we will be happy to help.
a very good product all my staff who have one think it is brilliant
Good - as expected
I have used it for one day and I can see that I will be befitting from it. It does take few clicks to get used to it. So far the use has been beneficial.
Mouse is excellent and greatly assisted with my carpal tunnel. Easy to use and would recommend.
Thank you for your lovely review, I am so pleased to hear that you are happy with the penguin mouse, It is a great little mouse designed specifically for helping people with RSI and carpel tunnel syndrome and one of our most favourite products! Kind regards
I love the mouse! No more pain in my hand!
Style is ideal for issues in using normal mouse, but top clicker needs attention due to recent failure of one device and my Penguin sometimes sticks on this top clicker.
very pleased with the service
The mouse is excellent, with the exception of battery life, which is very poor and there is no low battery warning, just a non responsive mouse, even though some of the lights are still on.
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the Penguin Mouse & have passed your comments on to our product innovation team for consideration
This mouse is great! Little loss of accuracy and the fact that its ambidextrous means my employer only has to purchase one of them!
I have found the mouse wonderful and it has stopped my wrists from hurting.
Thank you for your review, I am glad to hear that you are enjoying using the Penguin Mouse and that you feel it has made your wrists feel much better! Vertical mice are highly recommended for use with a computer for anyone with wrist pain as they allow your forearm & wrist to be in a natural position (handshake) instead of in a normal mousing position which causes you to twist your arm around which can cause strain on your wrists and forearms. Thank you again for your lovely review.
the Penguin mouse has really helped the user who had wrist pain using a regular mouse, so user is very pleased with the product.
We have a number of users using this Penguin mouse and find it an excellent solution to their specific problems.
The Mouse has an intermittent fault (see above). Which is a shame as the product is very comfortable to use and I still prefer it to a standard flat bed mouse.
Our staff member is very happy with her new Penguin mouse and is much better for her to use.
Expensive for what it is
I used one of these at work and within a few days my RSI problem disappeared. I retired in March and using an ordinary mouse for a few months the issue reappeared, this mouse has again solved the problem
Great mouse, my hand and wrist do not hurt anymore and I can swap between the right and left hand whenever I want. Goodbye pain! Thank you very much!
I suffer from tennis elbow (tendonitis) and the Penguin Mouse has helped a great deal in managing the condition.
I love my mouse however it freezes 2 or three times a week and i have to turn it on and off and then reset my preferred speed. We sent it back but there was no fault found however the fault does persist. Hasn't stopped me using it.
Very good product for my wrist. However the battery does not charge up as much as I would like.
Product appeared good but had to return as incorrect size.
I don't use this myself, I ordered it for a colleague and they are pleased with it.
Struggled with RSI for about 6 months. Almost unable to work at computer. Physio told me to stop using a computer (!) Tried the Penguin mouse after a Google search. Bingo! Pain disappeared after a few days. Took about a month to get really proficient with the Penguin mouse (in either hand) but never think about it now. Recommended!
No complaints so far.
Sorry to hear you are not happy with the service you received and the products, Please contact us to let us know how we can help you. Our customer services number is 0845 345 0010
My only criticism is that occasionally the cursor will jump to the left, right, up or down for no reason. Another glitch is that occasionally the mouse stops responding and I have to turn it off and on to get it back. This could be a problem with the Logitec interface that is used, possibly a driver issue. Other that that, it's comfortable to use.
When I called for advise on sizing I was just told what the website said and I was looking for a bit ore help but didn't get it. as a result of this I purchased the large size per the size guide but think its too big despite being in the large bracket. I called asking for advise again but was just told the same which wasn't really helpful. I was offered a swap but tried to persevere. As a result I don't use it, therefore a huge waste of money.
I had a sports injury on my wrist which meant that using a traditional mouse would cause me pain. The Posturite vertical mouse has addressed this issue and is very comfortable and easy to use.
Have used this product before - it lasted about 2 years so not too bad but still a much shorter shelf life than a normal mouse
Since using this mouse my wrist pain has virtually disappeared and it's great that the mouse can be adjusted to be used in either hand.
Excellent, my painful arm has vastly improved since using it
