Quick Overview

The Penguin marks a major breakthrough in the battle to beat health problems created when computer users spend too much time handling a conventional mouse.

It sets new standards of protection against a range of upper limb conditions such as repetitive strain injury (RSI) and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) by enabling right and left hands to share the workload and avoiding exaggerated movements of the wrist joint that can increase pressure on the soft tissues in the carpal tunnel. Regular switching of hands throughout the day helps prevent static muscle strain (SMS) in the arm and shoulder - a major source of discomfort in mouse work.

Wrist Pain now Gone !!!!! Review by Cathy
Arrived quickly and soon got the hang of it easily. Wrist pain disappeared and only returns when I use the other mouse at home. Will purchase a Penguin for home too, it makes such a difference with my bendy keyboard, no more RSI issues. Even the IT guy at work can use it easily when I have issues with my PC. Excellent Review by Big Hands
Very comfortable. Used it for only 4 hours at the moment and it feels totally natural. Adjusted DPI to max setting and can now flick the cursor over both screens with small movements.

Smooth effortless control. The bird beats the mouse hands down!

Only negative I can think of is no "forwards/Backwards" button for browsing pages. (Posted on 11/04/2014)
No more pain. Excellent mouse! Review by Scotts
I am on the computer 40hrs/week minimum. The pain in my right hand began to subside the day I began using the Penguin. After 1 week the pain and tenderness were gone. Aside from the ergonomic design, the Penguin is an excellent mouse. I had no problems switching to it. it took me less than a day to feel comfortable with it. Im glad it comes in different sizes as I have large hands and this mouse fits me very well. Although the mouse is straight up vertical it's design allows for a relaxed grasp both vertically and with my hand turned towards the mouse which I really like because I find it more comfortable to change my hand position throughout the day. Really Pleased Review by Mrs O
Got one on the advice of my Chiropractor to relieve RSI symptoms and shoulder pain. Really pleased! Both symptoms have disappeared. The mouse took a couple of hours to get used to but now I don't even think about it. Really comfortable to use. Can't recommend it enough. (Posted on 25/02/2014)
Pick up a...? Review by Sebastian (Staff Review)
Penguin, of course! I was expecting this to take a bit of getting used to, but in fact it was very easy to make the transition. Love the position of the buttons and the rubberized rear section which helps make it feel organic and natural when held.
A normal flat mouse seems like the most alien object in my hand now. This is the future - it seems that we have progressed beyond mice to penguins. The only downside is that it doesn't double as a gaming joystick! (Posted on 04/12/2013)
Plug and play. Very comfortable Review by Charlie S
I've tried a few different ergonomically designed mice, and this is far and away the best! Simple to set up and didn't take long to get used to. I wish I had this years ago! (Posted on 04/12/2013)
fantastic Review by jo s
This is a very clever design.
I began to suffer from severe pains in my right hand and wrist in February and wrist and was diagnosed as suffering from the early stages of RSI. I told by a physiotherapist that if I didn't modify my mouse use my condition would become progressively worse. The health and safety officer at work took immediate action and got me the penguin mouse; I have been pain free since I began using it in March. This is wonderful product, I am amazed that it is not more widely known about. At home I now use my mouse with my left hand – but am concerned that I may begin to develop similar problem with my left hand – I would like to be able to afford to have one at home and hope that as this product become more widely known and used, your prices will reduce and be more in line with other mouse products.

Tried it but did not reduce my RSI in hand. Review by Ron Watson
I liked the idea of the Penguin but I felt it was too straight and should of been on a slight angle. The design is ambidextrous and that's why it is straight, to make it suitable for both hands.

Should have designed an ambidextrous tilted base instead.

I have since purchased the Grip mouse, which is on an angle and feels more natural. (Posted on 07/07/2012)
Superb and surprisingly natural (unlike trackballs) Review by Steven Kelly
Wow, I have to say after using this for 7 hours straight on an 8-hour shift and then reverting to a standard mouse for the last hour, what a difference this has made to the way I use a mouse (or penguin). Firstly, it felt very natural to use for the first time (unlike a trackball, which takes a lot of getting used to). Secondly, when you revert to using a standard mouse after a long busy shift at the computer (I work in I.T. for a living), the standard mouse actually seems so unnatural and I wonder how I ever used one for so long before.
I can't say enough about this product. I've had it for one day and it makes a huge difference in the way I work.
I would make a couple of suggestions to either the heavy or casual user:
1. Use the high or maximum DPI setting so there's less "jitter" and more close/precise control.
2. Use your control panel / mouse settings (Windows) to adjust the double-click (slow it down a bit), pointer speed and scrolling speed to an optimum setting. This will vary according to the user's needs, so play around with these settings until you're happy with them.

Good product - solved my dead finger problem Review by LickysMum
Been having problems with my little finger on my right hand - nerves playing up and waking up with a dead finger.
Occupational Health at Imperial College London lent me a Penguin to try for a week and it has solved the problem. Have bought one for home use as well. I can thoroughly recommend this vertical mouse. Took my less than a day to learn how to use it. (Posted on 09/03/2012)
