Obesity from an employer's perspective
Friday 21 November 2014
Obesity is a growing problem – the Office for National Statistics last year reported that 24% of the adult population was now considered obese, up from 13% for men and 16% for women in just two decades. For employers, the rising trend of obesity in the workplace represents an extra set of challenges, all of which will be explored in this month’s webinar. Our presenter, Graham Baldwin, will cover the impact of obesity on the workplace, the legal view, and dealing with obesity in the 30 minute free session.
Graham has been working at AXA PPP Healthcare as a Senior Health & Safety Consultant for over eighteen years and has previous experience as a Health and Safety Manager within the drinks industry. He has extensive experience in managing the safety of employees who weigh in excess of 30 stone (190kg) and is often involved in risk assessing large public events in his voluntary work with organisations such as The Royal British Legion and Lions International.
Graham is a chartered member of IOSH, is on the register of Occupational Safety and Health Consultants and holds a NEBOSH diploma.
