Are You Prepared for the Great Escape? - by Posturite

If there was a fire in your building, are you sure you have all the means of escape in place to enable people to get out safely?

What if a disabled person in a wheelchair was trapped upstairs? Would they be able to get back down if the lift was out of action and their chair was too big or heavy to carry?

These are all questions you should be asking yourself if you have responsibility for all or part of your premises. Recent legislation means that you could be liable if a fire breaks out and all methods of escape haven’t been provided. That means having specialist evacuation chairs installed, and people trained to use them correctly, so that any disabled people can be carried downstairs safely.

More than 30,000 workplace fires occur in the UK every year. Don’t take a risk that it won’t happen to you. Contact our MediRite division on 0845 199 9991 and they will be able to advise you about what to buy to meet your needs.
