Bar Council refit goes like clockwork for Office Environments

OE-Bar-Council_NewsRiteEarly morning starts have become something of the norm recently for the folks at Office Environments, our project management division.

They’ve had to get up at the crack of dawn to make deliveries to the High Holborn headquarters of the Bar Council – the organisation which represents barristers in England and Wales and promotes their role at the heart of the justice system – where OE is supplying all the furniture and fittings for a refit of the six-storey building.

The offices are on a no-waiting bus route which has meant that all deliveries have had to be carried out between six and seven o’clock in the morning.

As well as supplying all the new furniture – seating, desks, fitted and mobile storage, electrics for the desks, monitor arms, screen hung letter trays, pen pots, name tags, meeting room and canteen tables and chairs – OE has also been responsible for the move management which has had to be carefully planned to minimise disruption to the Bar Council’s 170 staff.

The project has been split into six phases with the floors being furnished one at a time on the last Wednesday to Friday of each month starting in October last year and finishing at the end of February this year. Much of the installation has taken place over the weekend so that staff can come in on the Monday morning to a brand new environment.

OE sales manager Julian Millar said: “The location of the building, the liaison with other contractors carrying out the physical refurbishment, and the need for everything to be ready for when the staff came back into work after the weekend, has presented some interesting logistical challenges, but it’s what we do at Office Environments. We make things happen on time and on budget with careful planning and proper resourcing.”
