College awards Office Environments an A* for service

Mid Cheshire College is rightly proud of its record as one of only a handful of general further education colleges in the country to receive across-the-board Grade 1 ratings from Ofsted.

So when planning its new campus at Winsford, it was determined to provide students with facilities to match its outstanding reputation.

Following a three-way tender, Office Environments was selected to handle the fit-out of the £10m building.

Our brief was to provide the college with a fresh, modern look but with furniture that would stand the test of time.

The £70,000 contract involved fitting out the atrium, reception and breakout areas, classrooms and learning resource centre.

Seating, desking, flip-top tables, reception counters, soft seating, classroom and canteen furniture, storage, screens and shelving were all carefully selected to provide the campus’s 400 students with surroundings and facilities befitting the college’s status.

Mid Cheshire College facilities manager Nigel Colley, who worked closely with Office Environments business development manager Steve Dinning throughout the project, said: “We are delighted with the way everything went. Office Environments were good to their word throughout. Whatever they said they would do, they did successfully."

“It was important that everything was in place when the students arrived at the start of the term and, despite one or two hiccups that weren’t of their making, Office Environments completed the work on time and within budget."

“The campus has now been open for almost a year, and the facilities are still looking as good and as fresh as they did when Eddisbury MP and International Development Minister Stephen O'Brien opened the building in the autumn.  All in all, we’re very happy with the work that Office Environments did for us.”
