Do you have a defibrillator on your premises?

If not, why?

Up to 100,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) each year in the UK alone – more than breast cancer, lung cancer, HIV and AIDS combined.

Despite that it can happen to even those who may seem healthy on the outside, even without any prior symptoms, it is not widely considered (or law) for workplaces or public areas to be equipped in the event of someone suffering an SCA.

So what happens during an SCA?

An SCA can happen to anyone, any time, at any age, any level of fitness.

If an SCA happens, the heart stops, which means that blood is no longer being pumped around the body and brain, causing the person to collapse and vital organs to shut down.

CPR can keep the blood pumping around the body but the heart needs to be “shocked” by an electric pulse from an AED device to regain its beat.

The ambulance services are targeted to respond to an emergency call and arrive on the scene within 8 minutes, although this may seem pretty fast, this is where it becomes crucial to save the person’s life as with each minute that passes, the patent’s chances of survival are reduced by 10-14%.

Even if the ambulance arrives within the 8 minutes, the patient’s chances of survival would have dropped enormously to an 80% chance of fatality. It really is a matter of minutes to save a life when a person suffers an SCA.

Having a defibrillator on your premises can dramatically save lives. Featuring the same advanced technology trusted by emergency professionals – yet simple to use – the LIFEPAK CR Plus automated external defibrillator is designed specifically for the first person to respond to a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.

Although not everyone can be saved from SCA, studies show that early defibrillation can dramatically improve survival rates.

Exclusively for Heart Month, our market-leading LIFEPAK CR Plus automated external defibrillator (AED) will be available to buy at a special price of just £845 (ex-VAT) instead of the usual list price of £1,495 (ex-VAT) – a whopping saving of £650!

Hopefully you'll never have to use the defibrillator. But if someone is unfortunate enough to suffer a sudden cardiac arrest on your premises, the LIFEPAK CR Plus could make the difference between whether that person lives or dies.
