Not only do the majority of employers accept that there is a link between staff health and business performance - they also believe they have a responsibility to improve employee attitudes towards health.
The findings come from a recent survey by Aon Employee Benefits. Out of 200 UK organisations surveyed, 96% agreed that the link between performance and health existed, while the same percentage said they should take responsibility for improving attitudes towards health at work.
Over three quarters (77%) of employers said they intended to either start a health and wellbeing programme in 2018, or improve their existing one.
What elements of workplace health are employers most concerned with?
According to the survey results, employers are currently concerned with:
- mental health (43%)
- physical health (33%)
- lifestyle behaviours (33%)
