One of the UK’s top authorities on exercise science and cardiovascular health and rehabilitation, Professor John Buckley, will be our guest speaker at a free half-day seminar on sit-stand working being held at the University of Chester on 9 July.
The Professor is currently leading the longest ever research project into the health benefits of a less sedentary working environment, and he will join our own lead ergonomist, Katharine Metters, to explain the cardio metabolic and musculoskeletal benefits of sit-stand working and its impact on individuals and organisations.
Katharine said: “We are delighted that John has agreed to join us for this event and share his tremendous knowledge and expertise in this important field.”
The seminar forms part of a busy schedule of free events we are hosting around the country over the next few months designed to help businesses keep up to date with the latest developments on a range of health and safety at work issues.
As well as sit/stand working, subjects such as staff enablement, reasonable adjustments, stress management, flexible working, cost effective ergonomics, the use of defibrillators and evacuation chairs, and online learning all feature in the programme.
Guest speakers join our own in-house experts to lead the seminars which, where possible, are held in local landmark buildings.
Lunch is included at each event and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Over the next few months we will be in Newcastle, Cardiff, Cambridge, Birmingham, Chester, Warrington, Exeter, Galway and London.
