Lab tests reveal that Fellowes AeraMax® air purifiers reduce coronavirus 229E (a virus with similar properties to the one that causes COVID-19) by 99.99% within just one hour of use.
While it is not yet possible or ethical for labs to aerosolize Sars-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) for airborne testing, they have successfully tested AeraMax® on a human coronavirus surrogate: another positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus known as coronavirus 229E.
Why is this research important?
"We understand our clients are seeking the best solution to accomplish their short-term goals of fighting the coronavirus and their longer-term vision to provide their employees and patrons cleaner air," said John Fellowes, fourth-generation CEO of our partner Fellowes Brands. "Our investment in these tests was to ensure we can offer our clients the reassurance that Fellowes AeraMax Pro air purifiers are indeed effective in removing forms of coronavirus from indoor air."
How does AeraMax® kill viruses?
AeraMax®'s four-stage filtration system involves a carbon filter, true HEPA filter, built-in anti-microbial treatment (to stop the growth of bacteria) and - to top it all off, PlasmaTRUE™ technology which neutralises particles at a molecular level.
You can even check the quality of air in your room in real-time thanks to the digital display. As well as being an effective part of your COVID-secure strategy, AeraMax® can also be used to reduce allergens, eliminate odours and create a fresher, healthier environment where staff can feel good and be productive.
What does the scientific community think?
Commenting on the latest research, Dr. Rajiv Sahay, Director of Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory at Pure Air Control Services based in Florida, said: "I continue to be impressed with the findings on the efficacy of this technology/device by Fellowes."
He also described AeraMax®'s test results from the independent third-party accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) laboratory in Shanghai as "significant".
