New e-learning courses for drivers, pregnant women and new mums

new-courses-blogPregnant women or those who have just given birth, and people who drive as part of their job are the latest groups of people to benefit from our market-leading e-learning courses.

Our brand new New and Expectant Mothers e-learning course is aimed at employers who need to make provision in the workplace for pregnant employees, new mums and women who are breastfeeding to ensure that risk assessments are up to date and that particular job functions can be adequately managed.

The course takes the new or expectant mum, her line manager and other staff through all the things that need to be considered to ensure that the workplace is safe.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and is split into eight separate modules:

  • Introduction
  • The changing body
  • Legal duties
  • Maternity leave
  • Workplace risks
  • Fire safety
  • Keeping fit and healthy
  • Summary

Also new is our updated Driver Awareness e-learning course which has been developed in association with TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) and is designed for anyone who drives as part of their work.

Replacing our old DriveRite program, the new Driver Awareness course provides a challenging and interactive way to improve driver performance and safety, and builds on their existing skills to help them reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.

TRL, the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory, is recognised worldwide for transport innovation,  evidential research and impartial advice. Commercially independent with over 80 years of knowledge and experience, TRL has been involved with research into road safety and driver behaviour for much of its history and is widely recognised for its expertise in work-related road safety, workplace transport safety and road worker safety.

The course covers:

  • Introduction
  • Driver theory
  • Driver safety
  • Vehicle safety
  • Journey planning
  • Post collision
  • Assessment

The two new programs bring to 14 the number of stunningly creative, highly interactive and commercially prudent courses in our ever-growing library.

They offer a convenient and cost-effective solution to a company’s needs to fulfil its legal obligation to its staff by ensuring they are properly trained in subjects such as DSE usage, manual handling, stress management and fire safety.

All our courses can be adapted to meet companies’ individual needs and are supported by our highly praised and unique online management system which captures essential information for the health and safety team and provides a fully auditable trail of actions taken or required.
