Posturite has given its formal backing to some of the biggest names in world cricket who each year help to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
Legends of the game such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sir Viv Richards, Allan Donald, Alvin Kallicharan and Courtney Walsh have all turned out for the Lashings All-Stars over recent years.
Now, with the Kent-based club about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, we have signed a three-year deal to become a global partner to the world famous Lashings team.
As part of the deal, Posturite branding will appear on the player’s shirts as well as all the club’s literature and website. Posturite’s instantly recognisable logo will sit alongside other well-known international brands such as brewers Molson Coors, Mokarabia Coffee, Jamaica’s Jakes Treasure Beach Hotel and London bespoke tailor Charlie Allen. Posturite will also be distributing our own literature and messages to guests at lunches that commonly precede the team’s matches throughout the country.
The Lashings team has committed to extend its run of annual fixtures against an Eastbourne XI for a further three years, this year’s match taking place on Friday 13 June at the glorious Saffrons ground in the centre of Eastbourne, it will be the third time that Lashings have played at The Saffrons.
Our CEO, Ian Fletcher-Price, who signed the sponsorship deal with Lashings founder and chairman David Folb, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Lashings in their 30th anniversary year. The whole story of how David took the club from a local pub team to international superstardom is the stuff of legend. The fact that he’s done it in the face of much adversity makes it even more appealing. Perhaps someone will make a film about it one day – a sort of cricketing Chariots of Fire!
“Meanwhile we look forward to joining David and Lashings on their ongoing journey and, in particular, to welcoming their peripatetic band of cricketing giants to Eastbourne once again for the annual Big Bash against the club of which I have the dubious honour of being the chairman.”
The 2014 Lashings squad is once again stacked full of well known names including England’s Matthew Hoggard, Andy Caddick, John Emburey and Phil Defreitas; Courtney Walsh, Gordon Greenidge and Correy Collymore of the West Indies; Inzamam Ul Haq and Mohammad Yousaf of Paskistan; New Zealand’s Scott Styris and Ian Butler; Ian Harvey from Australia; and Dirk Nannes, the Dutch-Australian T20 specialist.
This year they will play almost 40 fixtures between the end of May and September, travelling the length and breadth of the country to do so. They will be watched by vast hordes of spectators and help to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
