Posturite sees 14% rise in sales and more jobs

In a year in which the general economy has struggled to make any meaningful headway, Posturite has sailed ahead with a 14% uplift in sales over the previous 12 months.

Whilst the majority of the growth has come from the curative sales division, where we have continued to add dozens more blue chip companies and SMEs to the roster of UK businesses with which we have service level agreements, our other divisions – WorkRite and Office Environments – have also made an impressive contribution to the company’s growth.

We have also been busy recruiting new staff to help manage the increasing workload. Our workforce has grown by more than 10% in a little over a year, mainly on the customer-facing side of the business.

Encouragingly, export sales too have shown a healthy rise, both in North America and Europe, led by our magnificent Penguin ambidextrous vertical mouse which has been lauded in independent user studies on both sides of the Atlantic over the past 12 months.  With an exclusive agreement now in place for the giant Synnex Corporation to market our products in the States and more distributors coming on stream across Europe, we expect export sales to continue on an upward curve in 2013/14.

Much of the company’s success is, of course, attributable directly to the hard work and professionalism of our staff. So we were delighted that a further 10 senior managers this year decided to  acquire ordinary shares in the company bringing the total number of employee shareholders to 22 – more than 15% of the total workforce.

We were also thrilled during the year to be awarded the Investors in People gold standard – the first ergonomics company in Britain to do so. It means we now sit proudly among the top 3% of UK businesses holding an IiP gold award, the ultimate recognition of world-class best practice in people management.

We were touched by the words of IiP assessor Claire Smith who said in her report:  “Posturite is an impressive, values-driven organisation and its no-blame culture, as well as its open, trusting and empowering management style demonstrated by directors and managers, is conducive to high levels of engagement, enthusiasm and motivation.

“People genuinely enjoy working for Posturite and they live the organisation’s values daily. They strive for continuous improvement, they are demonstrably committed to their work and, without exception, they are able to describe how they contribute and how their contributions are recognised and valued.”

With that ringing endorsement, Posturite can look forward with optimism to further growth in the coming year.
