WorkRite introduces conflict resolution training

WorkRite has added Conflict Resolution Training (CRT) to its fast-growing roster of health and safety training courses.

With more than 625,000 British workers suffering threats of violence or actual physical assaults in one year, according to the 2008/09 British Crime Survey, the need to make employees aware of ways to defuse potential conflicts is obvious.

Indeed, employers have a duty to do so as violence falls under the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act, Management Regulations and RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations).

WorkRite’s one-day course meets the robust criteria set out by the Counter Fraud & Security Management Service (CFSMS) and lays out a range of non-physical intervention techniques for managing and de-escalating potentially violent incidents.

Ryan Church, national sales manager of WorkRite, said: “The Trades Union Congress estimates that more than three million working days are lost due to violent incidents at work every year. So there is a strong economic argument for employers to do what they can to arm their people with the knowledge of how to avoid conflict as well as needing to meet their obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act.”

As with all WorkRite courses, delegate numbers are strictly limited to ensure that those attending receive the maximum benefit.
