WorkRite, Posturite’s specialist e-learning and training solutions division, has become one of the first companies in the country to hold new-generation First Aid at Work training courses.
From the beginning of October, the HSE-approved training has been reduced from four days to three. WorkRite held its first two courses at Gateshead on October 20-22 and in London on October 27-29.
Development of WorkRite’s new course was carried out in conjunction with MediRite, Posturite’s occupational health and first aid division.
People who attend a full three-day course and pass an independent assessment at the end of it are awarded a nationally-recognised and HSE-approved First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
Among the important and potentially life-saving skills delegates learn are how to deal with choking, head injuries, strokes, asthma, poisons, fractures, back injuries, burns, epilepsy and diabetes, as well as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
WorkRite national sales manager Ryan Church said: “The courses at Gateshead and London were the first of many that we will be running across the country for people wanting to achieve the First Aid at Work qualification.
“We will also be organising a series of one-day refresher courses that the HSE recommends people attend annually to keep their qualification up to date.”
