The Penguin marks a major breakthrough in the battle to beat health problems created when computer users spend too much time handling a conventional mouse.

It sets new standards of protection against a range of upper limb conditions such as repetitive strain injury (RSI) and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) by enabling right and left hands to share the workload and avoiding exaggerated movements of the wrist joint that can increase pressure on the soft tissues in the carpal tunnel. Regular switching of hands throughout the day helps prevent static muscle strain (SMS) in the arm and shoulder - a major source of discomfort in mouse work.

The Penguin Mouse is also antimicrobial to inhibit the growth of bacteria - making it perfect for hot desking environments.

I'm still getting used to using this mouse but it seems to be helping my tennis elbow. I like the fact that it is ambidextrous so that I can swop use during the day. I would recommend giving it a go if you are finding that you are suffering from using a computer mouse. It encourages a more natural position for your wrist and hand.

I had been suffering with some discomfort in my wrist due to my previous, bog standard mouse, the 'penguin' mouse alleviated that almost immediately. It gets 5 stars for ergonomics.
There are some draw backs I can see after a months use though. My hands are generally very warm naturally and they can get slightly sweaty from the plastic if I grip the mose properly.
Double clicking the mouse button is a little hit and miss. My previous mouse you really only needed to modulate the pressure on the button to register the second click. This needs a more definite release and click and adjusting is taking longer than I would expect.
Finally, scrolling isn't as nice as I would like because of the scroll wheels size. It is quite large, probably for ergonomic reasons, so needs larger finger movements to achieve the same degree of rotation compared to standard mice and I struggle to scroll down spreadsheets etc. as quickly as I am used to.
These really are just are just minor gripes though. I'll probably adapt to the scroll wheel and double clicking in time but compared to the pain I was in I would be more than happy to live with them.

I'm very pleased with the mouse, it helps a lot with the pain in my arm. But I think the sizing chart is poor because it indicated that I needed a medium which turned out to be much too big. The cost of postage is not refunded, so take care when ordering.

I just purchased a second ambidextrous penguin mouse as the first one was so brilliant. I can't contemplate using a normal mouse again.
