Why is it important to have an AT assessment?

There are two key reasons why AT assessments are important:

  • It is very easy to get the wrong equipment
Without expert opinion, you can’t be sure that the assistive tech is going to be right for the individual. After all, we’re all different. An AT assessor can help match the right person with the right product to maximise the chances of it helping them do their job.
  • Not knowing how to use equipment leads to abandonment
Giving an employee new equipment isn’t enough. A lot of assistive tech gets abandoned without the right training. An AT assessor can make sure employees know how to use the equipment so they can get the most out of it.
