Dyslexia screener

Dyslexia Screener

An innovative online facility which offers a quick, convenient and cost-effective method for employers to identify adults with dyslexic tendencies.

It is estimated that 1 in 10 individuals in the UK suffer from dyslexia, it is not an indicator of intelligence, in fact some of the world’s most famous business people are or have been dyslexic – Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Albert Einstein – all are or were dyslexic.

Dyslexia affects the way that the brain processes, stores and retrieves information. People with dyslexia might experience problems with their memory, the speed of processing information, time perception and sequencing. None of these should be barriers to achievement, in fact legislation protects dyslexic individuals – the Equality Act of 2010 says that dyslexic people should not be treated unfavourably but if the condition is undiagnosed, all too often, they are.

WorkRite has developed a very simple online dyslexia screener which your employees can complete in just a few minutes at a location of your choice. The screener focuses on 6 key areas, immediately generates a report upon completion and will help you understand whether any problems they are having are as a result of dyslexia or other difficulties. It will also give you an overview of the employee’s strengths and weaknesses – an ideal tool for evaluating where your employee might be best focused in the future.

If the report indicates that the employee is showing dyslexic tendencies, you can simply refer your employee for a full diagnostic assessment.
