Improve comfort and productivity across your organisation by training staff to carry out DSE assessments internally. This course is delivered via a trainer led live remote session and is also available as a face-to-face course delivered on-site.
Max 6 people per course
Eyestrain, back pain and RSI are just some of the health problems associated with using display screen equipment (DSE) for long periods of time without a suitable set-up. We train people to become DSE assessors so that they can identify workstation issues within their organisations, and know what to do about them. Having internal DSE assessors on-hand is an efficient and cost-effective way — not only of meeting health and safety requirements, but of keeping everyone comfortable, productive and injury-free at their desks.
This DSE assessor course gives absolute beginners the skills, knowledge and confidence to conduct workstation assessments in line with DSE regulations.
Formally known as the DSE assessment foundation course, this now includes up-to-date working methods to accommodate the increase in hybrid working a lot of organisations are experiencing.
Following completion of your training, you will have access to our dedicated DSE advice team who will be available to answer your questions about ergonomics, positioning and equipment, as well as generally supporting you on an ongoing basis with your DSE assessing.
What to expect
Throughout the session the trainer will discuss common musculoskeletal disorders, DSE regulations, common workstation problems and possible solutions. All course attendees will be provided with the information they need to be able to complete standard DSE assessments of workstations in line with the display screen equipment regulations. They’ll gain new skills, build confidence and enjoy a fun, engaging experience with our trainers.
The course is structured as follows:
Pre course study:
Documentation will be sent out for delegates to read ahead of the course.
Trainer led group session:
The delegates and trainer will be able to interact with each other live and participate in learning activities (3 hours including breaks).
Post course study:
Delegates will be expected to have completed two workstation assessments (including before and after photos) following the group session. The trainer will follow-up with each delegate to talk through and answer questions on the assessments. On successfully completion and confirmation of delegate understanding a certificate will be issued.
