What to expect

This course won’t just be a repeat of what you know although we will recap the important bits! While your knowledge will be refreshed, the post-foundation course develops your understanding of specific musculoskeletal disorders typically linked to DSE workstations. You’ll also be taken beyond the DSE regulations and encouraged to think flexibly about working positions and behaviours. After all, it’s not 1992 anymore. The world of work is changing, and technology is freeing us from traditional desk set-ups. It’s important that as DSE assessors, we find effective solutions based on individuals, their environments and how they want to work.

There will be a mixture of theory and practical activities covered in this course.

We'll cover...

  • Regulations relating to DSE, to refresh your memory
  • Anatomy and working postures, and how they are affected by DSE
  • Common conditions reported by DSE users
  • Using a flexible, individualised approach to find solutions
  • Reviewing workstations - you’ll get physically involved here
  • Reviewing ergonomic equipment, giving you a chance to see and touch products, and discussing when to use and why
  • Return to work scenarios

Our trainers

The course will be led by one of our experienced Posturite assessors, who are either relevant health professionals, or ergonomists with specialist knowledge in the area of DSE.
