Overview
Greg Biddle will outline a free, evidence-based programme that encourages employees to sit less and move more throughout the working day. The background to the programme, including the epidemiological and experimental evidence, will be explained, followed by the testing of the programme itself. Greg will then outline how organisations and employees can now access all these resources for free!
The session will focus on the importance of ensuring that employees can obtain adjustment to enable them to work effectively, particularly in the current climate.
About the speakers
Greg Biddle
Greg is currently in the final stages of a PhD in health science where he has specialised in sedentary behaviour (sitting) in people at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. He is now working on the implementation of the Smart Work Programme; a free, evidence-based programme designed to help employees sit less and move more throughout the working day.
Dr Fehmidah Munir
Dr Fehmidah Munir is a Reader in Health Psychology in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University and is a Chartered Health Psychologist. Fehmidah specialises in the promotion of health and management of ill-health and well-being in occupational and community settings.
