At Posturite we understand the importance of accessibility.

Posturite is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology, ability or impairment.

We are continuously working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website.

We endeavour to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

We conform with the following WCAG 2.0 guidelines:

Perceivable – information and control elements are perceivable

  • Text alternatives for any non text content, such as ALT tags for images
  • Content can be viewed in text only mode by disabling styles in your browser settings
  • Content flows in a logical structure
  • No instructions for operating content role rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, size, visual location, orientation, or sound
  • Colour is never used as the sole means for conveying information
  • Text to background contrast ratios are above 5:1
  • Text content can be re-sized by adjusting text size in your browser

Operable – control and navigation are operable

  • All functionality can be operated using a keyboard
  • Items receive focus in a logical order
  • Keyboard focus is visible
  • No flashing content that might cause seizures is used
  • Appropriate TITLE tags describe each page
  • Appropriate link names are used

Understandable – information and operation is understandable

  • The default language of each web page can be programmatically determined.
  • Pages and control elements appear and operate in predictable ways.
  • Key navigation is consistent across pages.
  • Labels are provided for form elements.
  • Errors in forms are highlighted and a suggestion is provided.
  • A hierarchy of headings and text are used for content.
  • Users are given the option to review information before placing an order.

Robust – compatible with current and future user agent assistive technology

  • HTML/CSS markup is used for pages.
  • Elements have complete tags.
  • Elements do not contain duplicate attributes.
  • Elements do not contain duplicate Ids.
  • Appropriate html tags are used to convey meaning.

Technology should run in all modern browsers

This website is built with standard compliant HTML and CSS, meeting W3C standards. The site should display correctly in all modern and future browsers including:

Help instructions for impaired users or those using assistive technology

Different internet browsers have different settings to adjust accessibility features. Below are instructions for changing options in most browsers.

Please note: We cannot provide instructions for absolutely every browser version and sub version available. So please speak to your IT administrator if you cannot find the instructions to change settings. If you do not have permission to access or change these options, you may also need to speak to your IT administrator.

Change default text styles

  • Internet Explorer:Navigate to 'Tools' > 'Internet options' in your browser options. Then click on 'Accessibility'. In Formatting check each option off to ignore text styles and colours. You can also import your own style sheet
  • Firefox: Navigate to Tools' > 'Options' in your browser options. You will find fonts and colour options under the 'Contents' tab
  • Chrome: Navigate to 'Settings' (spanner symbol top right) > 'Options' > 'Under the Bonnet'. You will find various options besides the 'Web Content' label
  • Safari (Mac): Navigate to 'Safari' > 'Preferences' > 'Appearance'. You will find various options here
  • Opera: Navigate to 'View' > 'Style' in your browser settings. You will find many text accessibility options here

View in text only mode (available in some browsers only)

  • Internet Explorer 7 & 8: Navigate to 'View' > 'Style' in your browser options. Change 'Default Style' to 'No Style' to view text only
  • Firefox: Navigate to 'View' > 'Page Style'. Change 'Basic Page Style' to 'No Style' to view text only
  • Opera: Navigate to 'View' > 'Style' in your browser settings. Change 'Author Mode' to 'User Mode'

Change text size

  • Internet Explorer 6, 7 & 8: Navigate to 'View' > 'Text Size' to adjust text size in your browser options. Change text size here
  • Internet Explorer 9 & Chrome: Press CTRL +/- on your keyboard to change text size
  • Firefox: Navigate to 'View' > 'Zoom'. Select 'Zoom Text Only' in your browser options. Then press CTRL +/- on your keyboard to change text size
  • Safari (Mac): Navigate to 'View'. Select 'Zoom Text Only' in your browser options. Then press APPLE +/- on your keyboard to change text size

Page zoom (not available in Internet Explorer 6)

  • Internet Explorer 7 & 8: Navigate to 'View' > 'Zoom' to adjust zoom settings in your browser settings, or press CTRL +/- on your keyboard
  • Internet Explorer 9: Navigate to 'Tools' (top right of screen) > 'Zoom' to adjust zoom settings in your browser settings
  • Firefox & Opera: Navigate to 'View' > 'Zoom' or press CTRL +/- to adjust zoom settings in your browser settings
  • Chrome: Navigate to the settings tab (top right spanner icon) to find zoom options
  • Safari (Mac): Navigate to 'View' to find zoom options

Tabbing links

In all browsers: Use TAB on your keyboard to cycle focus through links and controls. Use shift TAB to go back.
