Enabling people to reach their full potential at work is one of the biggest challenges facing employers and managers.
This is especially the case when people are affected by a ‘hidden’ disability such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, visual impairment or hearing problems.
Huge numbers of workers suffer from conditions such as these, so it’s important that organisations know how to recognise and deal with them effectively.
That’s why the subject of Empowering and Enabling Your Staff is one of the most popular in our annual programme of free seminars that we run throughout the country.
So if you live or work in Scotland or the North of England you may want to make a note of Thursday 30 April when we’ll be hosting a half-day seminar on this important subject in Edinburgh.
Experts from our own rapidly expanding Enablement Division will explain the wide range of assessments, enablement training and strategy services available to help identify individuals’ specific needs and provide them with the correct support whilst at the same time also ensuring that the organisation complies with its legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
Howard Chambers is an accessibility expert who has had more than 20 years’ experience advising employers, training trainers and working directly with disabled customers to develop and promote the most innovative assistive technology solutions.
He will be joined on the day by speakers from two specialist companies to tell you about some of the innovative products and services that are available to help people with disabilities and impairments to cope better with everyday work tasks and improve productivity.
There will be a presentation by Connevans, a firm specialising in meeting the needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and Text Help wo provide literacy software solutions for individuals and organisations.
The seminar runs from 10am until 12.30 and will be followed by lunch and an opportunity for networking or chatting informally with any of the speakers.
