When we think of improving our work lives we tend to think of our careers. How can we achieve more, earn a promotion or pay rise, finally land that dream job? We don't tend to think of our daily habits - the small, often subconscious things we do at work that may be having a bigger impact on us than we realise.
We spend a third of our adult lives at work, with many of us using a computer for long stints every day. Computer work can be highly repetitive. The movements carried out on a daily basis - reaching for a mouse or keyboard, glancing between documents and a screen, looking down at a phone or tablet, put pressure on the musculoskeletal system. Failing to move and stretch regularly can also lead to other health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart issues and obesity.
All of these problems, often developed at work, affect our lives in a big way. This is why it's so important to make a conscious effort to develop healthy habits at work. We've put together 20 healthy working habits to try in 2020.
